I definitely agree! I absolutely love the new art style. The Sims look SO great! They are very cartoony but also much more realistic somehow…I think they really did a great job balancing it.
It was a just a rumor, unfortunately.
You aren’t being rude at all! The thing is, we have gotten our hopes up because we have assumed that EA would be sharing more info on The Sims 4 at big gaming events…even though EA never actually promised to do so.
However, it has been officially confirmed that TS4 will appear at E3. The event has traditionally been a huge venue for EA to reveal news and demos for The Sims. The timing also works perfectly, since we haven’t gotten news in almost a year and the game is set for a fall release.
I won’t be paying anyone. This is a labor of love…I make no money from Sims4News and pay for everything myself!
I would hire 2-3 content creators. The other positions don’t have a limit. I would be very happy hiring graphic designers, app developers, website designers…etc. Anyone that can help keep Sims4News running or help to improve/expand Sims4News is welcome to join the team!
Haha thanks, I responded to the post! And it’s alright, I do need to be held accountable for the things I post. A lot of people look at Sims4News for info, and clearly what I post has an effect on the media coverage of TS4, even outside of Tumblr! I’m just glad I got to clear up the situation and say my piece :)
Yep, haha, I’m a dude! Not British though, I’m American :)
Although this is a fairly old render I don’t think I’ve actually seen anyone point out that this lovely couple appear to be adult sims, as opposed to the young adults we’ve seen so far. It could easily just be the way they’ve been styled but they look altogether more distinguished than the other sims we’ve seen.
What do you think? Clever styling or our first look at a different age group?
EA is surveying players about a potential annual subscription service. If you pay $100, you get ALL of the content released throughout the year for free, including expansion packs, stuff packs, and store content.
What do you guys think about this idea? Would you be comfortable paying $100 a year?
I personally love this idea! I would rather pay upfront and get a complete game then having to deal with silly (and, frankly, overpriced) DLC.
The following message was posted online by Lucy Bradshaw, the senior vice president of EA Maxis:
Hi Simmers,
It is with a heavy heart today that EA and Maxis are announcing that ‘The Sims 4′ has ceased development. It’s never an easy decision to do something like this and on behalf of the development team I would like to thank you for all of your support. The Sims is, and will always be, about you – the community.
We will be evaluating the future of The Sims franchise to see what exciting experiences we can bring you in the future.
Lucy Bradshaw
SVP, EA Maxis
Following this news, a press release was posted on EA.com detailing a spin-off game for The Sims franchise. A ‘Freezer Bunny’ game has been announced and a majority of The Sims 4 development team will be transferred to development of this game.
Freezer Bunny is a pink cartoony rabbit from The Sims 2 and appeared at the back of community lot freezers.
Maxis has described this new game as a ‘free to play’ mobile game that’ll take Freezer Bunny to unimaginable places in Katy Perry’s Candyfornia. The game will also feature an always-online world, which has been extremely popular game feature over the past year, compatibility with the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and forced in-app purchases.
Thanks to BeyondSims for the news. As for Sims4News…it looks like this is our last post. It’s been real, guys.
