Fan Sites Invited to The Sims 4 Developers Event

Sim Times just tweeted about an invitation they received from Electronic Arts to an event where they’ll be able to try the full game — including live mode — and talk with the developers about The Sims 4.  The event is scheduled for July 1st. 

As we learn more I’ll be sure to update this post.

Update #2:  Attendees were just notified by EA that the events have been delayed or cancelled.

The Italian event has been cancelled altogether.

We were supposed to attend an even in July as well, but Ea Italy just told us that it has been cancelled :( —Daniela

Such short notice is really inexcusable and a cause for concern at the same time.  What’s wrong with the game that it can’t be played, first at E3 and now at an event scheduled two months before The Sims 4 is due to launch?

Update #3:  More details about the events have been shared and it seems likely that all of the developer events have been canceled. 

The Italian event, which was scheduled for July 7th, attendee SimsCri were contacted and told the event “has been cancelled throughout Europe, not just delayed.”

We also learn that the German event has “been delayed without further date“ which doesn’t sound promising in light of what EA Italy has told its fans.   But, of course, I’ll post if we hear differently.

What is going on!? This is so bizarre. The game is coming out in 10 weeks, and they still haven’t showed any gameplay outside of fake, staged videos. I wouldn’t be entirely shocked if the game was delayed past September 2nd…it clearly isn’t ready.
